I get home from work last night just after midnight to see either the kids made a mess of the entire house or we had been burgled. Considering the flat screen TV and laptop were still in the lounge room, I gathered it was the kids mess. I was too tired to deal with the mess there and then so I left it to clean up this morning....and unfortunately I am exhausted already. Back in my day, my siblings and I automatically did our chores (most of the time). I am forever stressing the point that I am too exhausted to do anything when I get home to my kids and that simply washing the dishes after dinner helps me a lot. I'm afraid it just falls on deaf ears. My teenage sons are very intelligent and active boys....yet every god damn day they do zip when it comes to helping around the house. They leave towels on the floor, dirty clothes next to the washing basket and never in it, other times they leave their dirty socks all over their room which creates the most horrendous smell in weather like this, never rinse off their plates unless they are told twenty times, never clean up the benches or table if they have made something to eat and can never be bothered to turn off their bedroom light or TV before they fall asleep. I don't know if they are this way due to their age or because they are boys. But I really don't like it.
